European Cyber Security Month kick-off

October stands for cybersecurity awareness.

An ECSM inter-institutional event kicked-off the campaign, bringing together EU institutions, bodies and agencies (EUIBAs).

The European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM) is the European Union’s annual campaign dedicated to promoting cybersecurity among EU citizens and organisations, and to providing up-to-date online security information through awareness raising and sharing of good practices.

The ECSM campaign is coordinated by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and the European Commission, and supported by EU Member States and hundreds of partners from Europe, and beyond.

Some of the highlights of the ECSM inter-institutional kick-off event included:

  • the important role of women in reinforcing the cybersecurity stance of our organisations and helping to fill the current skills gap in the field;
  • presentation of ECSM 2021 and the activities planned by the main organisers (ENISA and Commission), with a focus on Luxembourg;
  • how common binding rules for baseline security measures at all EUIBAs will prepare them to face increasing cyber threats;
  • some good practices which EUIBAs have successfully implemented to strengthen their cybersecurity and resilience.

What’s up in Luxembourg for #CyberSecMonth?

The European campaign is transposed in Luxembourg with the Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg, taking place 18-28 October 2021: 10 days to tackle the different facets of local cybersecurity.

Some fifteen companies and organisations are mobilised to highlight various cybersecurity topics: cryptography, the human-machine relationship, data protection, legislation, etc. A key overview of services, solutions and current thinking on a subject that is increasingly being considered by organisations.

Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg is intended to bring together the entire cybersecurity ecosystem and is an integral part of national efforts in this area.
